United States Ambassador to the Republic of Chad Geeta Pasi has been named the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of African Affairs.
“I am proud of the work accomplished by the Embassy and the progress made on relations between the United States and Chad during my tenure,” Ambassador Pasi said. “The new Chancery that opened in 2017 is a sign of the durable friendship between the United States and the people of Chad. It symbolizes the importance of our bilateral relations. The visit by the Secretary of State was an historic event.”
“I would like to thank the Embassy staff for their service, and also our Chadian and international partners for their cooperation and support. While I regret leaving, I am honored to have served in Chad.”
Ambassador Pasi presented her credentials to President Idriss Déby Itno on October 6, 2016.
A new U.S. Ambassador has not yet been named. Richard C. Bell will assume the role of Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. following Ambassador Pasi’s departure in September.
