Chad: U.S. Army Africa Conducts Joint Medical Readiness Training

In partnership with the Chadian Armed Forces, U.S. Army Africa conducted joint Medical Readiness Training Exercise (MEDRETE), in N’Djamena, Chad from June 2-12, 2014.  Military medical personnel from Chad and the United States participated in this exercise.  MEDRETE 14-5 allowed medical professionals from both militaries to build and strengthen medical capacity.  The exercise focused on the ability to deliver effective trauma surgery in support of United Nations Peace Support Operations/Peace Keeping Operations and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations, and to exchange medical best practices.  Once the exercise is complete, U.S. participants returned to their home station.
