Continuing a long U.S. Embassy tradition in Chad, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Richard Bell paid a Ramadan courtesy call on May 7 on the Grand Imam, President of the High Council for Islamic Affairs in Chad, Sheikh Dr. Mahamat Khatir Issa. Chargé Bell offered his best wishes to all Muslims in Chad for Ramadan and presented a copy of President Trump’s 2019 Ramadan message. Chargé Bell and the Grand Imam discussed Embassy engagement in Chad in domains including development, education, and English-language learning, along with the High Council’s promotion of tolerance, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
