General David Rodriguez, Commander of the United States Africa Command, is visiting Chad from November 5-6, 2014. During his visit, he met with President Idriss Deby Itno and Chadian senior military leaders to discuss future joint cooperation efforts and to witness first-hand the joint commitment and partnership that has developed between the two militaries as they move forward together towards a stable and secure Africa.
U.S. soldiers help support the Chadian military in their participation in the UN stabilization mission in Mali with training required to deploy as part of the mission. USAFRICOM has an excellent relationship with the government and the military of Chad and forward to further cooperation in the future.
The United States appreciates this opportunity to further develop its expanding ties with the Republic of Chad and looks forward to continuing to strengthen our bilateral partnership.
