Message for U.S. Citizens: Holiday Closure – Labor Day

The U.S. Embassy in N’Djamena informs U.S. citizens that the Embassy and the Consular Section will be closed for routine services on May 1, 2017, in observance of the Chadian holiday, Labor Day.

The U.S. Embassy advises U.S. citizens to review and follow the guidance in the Travel Warning for Chad, and remain alert for potentially dangerous situations.  Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.  You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
