Ambassador Knight traveled by aircraft to Faya Largeau December 7 in order to participate in the opening of a three-day workshop targeting traditional leaders in the Borkou and Tibesti Regions of Chad’s far north.  The workshop was organized by the civil-military unit of the Chadian Special Anti-Terrorist Group (SATG) with funding support and technical assistance from the U.S. Civil Military Support Element (CMSE).  It brought together traditional and religious leaders, administrative officials, and military officers to discuss best methods for countering violent extremist influence.  The Governor of the Borkou Region hosted Ambassador Knight and the Embassy delegation comprising members of the Defense Attaché Office and the USAID Country Program Manager during this day-trip to Faya.
