While international passenger flights remain suspended, the Chadian Government announced it will reopen the Hassan Djamous International Airport effective August 1.
We do not anticipate there will be any future U.S. government repatriation flights.
Please follow information about commercial options on the websites of airlines operating in Chad or by coordinating with a local travel agency.
As of July 12, 2020, Chad had 866 confirmed cases — 788 healed and 75 deaths from COVID-19 within its borders.
U.S. government personnel in Chad are largely teleworking to reduce the risk of transmission, and visitor’s visa services remain suspended at the U.S. Embassy in N’Djamena.
Limited appointments for emergency American Citizen Services, such as renewing expired passports and documenting the birth of a child, are available.
