Muslim students pose questions regarding the Civil Rights Movement in 1950s America
Approximately 30 students from several universities in the N’Djamena region met at the Embassy on February 6 to discuss the commemoration of Black History Month and the Civil Rights Movement in America and how that campaign for civil rights might impact similar movements in Africa. Following a showing of the documentary film ‘A History of Black Achievement in America’, the students offered their opinions to Chargé Jessica Davis Ba. The students, who primarily came from English-language programs at their respective universities, engaged in thoughtful discussion regarding the inalienable rights of all peoples, no matter the country.
