Security Alert: Ongoing Demonstrations in N’Djamena, Embassy Personnel Temporarily Advised to Remain in Klemat

Location: N’Djamena, Chad

Event: Due to ongoing demonstrations in and around the city of N’Djamena, embassy personnel have been temporarily advised to remain in the vicinity of the Klemat neighborhood.

Police have used gas and force to disrupt demonstrations.

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid areas where demonstrations are taking place.
  • Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings and demonstrations
  • Seek shelter when gunfire is taking place.
  • Monitor local media for updates.
  • Keep a low profile.
