The Chargé d’Affaires meet Minister of Justice and Guardian of the Seals, in charge of Human Rights
The Chargé d’Affaires David Gilmour met Minister of Justice and Guardian of the Seals, in charge of Human Rights, Djimet Arabi to discuss Chad’s commitment to protect human rights and enforce rule of law. They covered trafficking in persons, equality before the law, and farmer-herder violence. The Chargé welcomed a transparent investigation and full accountability for anyone found guilty of abuses or violations in the April 16 death of 44 prisoners, and a trial for the remaining 14 prisoners held in Koro Toro prison. The Chargé and the Justice Minister welcomed collaboration through U.S. training offered to the Ecole Nationale de Formation Judiciaire.
