The U.S. Embassy is proud to announce the signing of cooperative agreements with six community organizations from across Chad. The grants are part of the Department of State’s Special Self Help Program, which enables community groups to obtain funding for projects initiated at the community level, for the benefit of the community. These projects are as diverse as the communities which have proposed them, across Chad’s provinces. They include initiatives to build mills that will help villages make grain, develop skills for women to sustain their families, and educate Chadians on skilled trades. The projects contain substantial community involvement and will have significant community impact. Through these programs, the United States continues to empower communities across Chad to develop sustainable livelihoods for a stronger future.

Association Feminine Diannodji – Agricultural production and training targeting women in Kakingue, Logone Oriental province.
Groupement Madjyakla – Production and transformation of sesame and peanuts in Magoumbou, Moyen Chari province.
Groupement Action Nature – Fruit juice production in Ku Jericho, Logone Oriental province.
Association Djiguerina de Kandili – Construction of three classrooms in Kandili, Mandoul province.
Groupement Gobeka – Raising and selling sheep in Balimba, Moyen Chari province.
Groupement Maikolo 1 – Raising and selling pigs for a women’s cooperative in Maikolo 1, Mandoul province.
