On April 8-9, a U.S. Congressional delegation including Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, Senator Christopher Coons of Delaware, Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, Senator Gary Peters of Michigan, Representative Susan Davis of California, and Representative Kathleen Rice of New York is visiting Chad.

The delegation is meeting with President of the Republic, Idriss Deby Itno, as well as with national security leaders and in-country U.S. officials on matters regarding international terrorism and regional security cooperation, in addition to examining women’s empowerment issues.  Their travel includes visits to several African nations.
