U.S. Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAF) Visit to Chad, February 2021

Major General Davin Anderson, Commander,  U.S. Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAF) visited Chad on February 17th to meet with U.S., Chadian, and Operation Barkhane senior leaders. SOCAF conducts the full spectrum of SOF missions and closely works with component, interagency and Partner Nations to protect U.S. lives and interests in Africa. SOCAF also trains African partner forces in military counterterrorism operations. This meeting between Major General Anderson, General de Division Abderaman Youssouf Mery and General de Brigade Idriss Amine Ahmed focused on air-ground integration training. This training is essential to build Chad’s capability and capacity to secure its borders and protect its people.
