An American non-governmental organization, Equal Access, has recognized three Chadian community radio stations for the quality of their radio program submissions on the theme of “Accountability – the Bedrock of Local and National Governance.” The three winners, chosen by an independent jury, received computers and recorders. The USAID Country Program Manager participated in the October 5 ceremony, along with a Ministry of Communications official and a representative of the communications regulatory board.  Funding for community radio support is provided by USAID through a regional project, Voices for Peace, that amplifies local voices of peace and tolerance to counter violent extremism in West Africa.
