Summary: The U.S. Mission in N’Djamena, Chad is seeking one eligible and qualified applicant for the position of Trades Helper Plumber in the Facility Maintenance Section.
The work schedule for this position is:
- Full Time (40 hours per week)
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (2 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Supervisory Position: No
Duties: The incumbent assists the Plumber in the performance of his work. The position holder is employed as a Trades Helper Plumber to assist the technicians of the skilled trades in the performance of routine and preventive maintenance, and new installations and demolition work.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EDUCATION: Primary School is required.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 6 months semi-skilled manual work is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Incumbent must have knowledge of SOPs used in plumbing work.
LANGUAGE Level II English and level III French are required (languages will be tested).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to perform more than one skill, use a manual lift and have basic numerical skills.
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service. Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
